Mission Statement

The Lief Foundation strives to empower others to discover and develop into their personal best through a sense of community. Our mission is to create and promote service, economic development, educational and cultural empowerment opportunities throughout the Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland area. Additionally, we aim to offer programs and activities designed to engage and equip our young people ages 12-18 for the future ahead.

Our vision is to inspire the community to lead healthy and active lives and to feel a sense of pride in unity and love.

Our Core Values

To accomplish our mission, we will focus on 4 core values or fabrics that will serve as the basis for which we will govern our services and activities, using the acronym S.E.A.M:

S-Service Minded, Socially Consciousness and Spiritually Centered:

We will provide opportunities for our community and youth to be actively engaged in service and to understand the importance of being socially aware and spiritually in tuned to the world around us.

E-Educational and Leadership Focused:

We will promote educational opportunities and strive to develop leaders within our community.

A-African-Centered & Multi-cultural Experiences:

We will promote participation in and pride of African-centered and multi-cultural experiences as educational and enjoyment opportunities.

M-Powerment (Ministry, Motivational Speaking, Monetary and Economic Development & Mentorship):

We will help to empower our community to find their purpose through ministry, motivational speaking and workshops, mentorship programming and educating them on the power of group economics.
