Nemia Carnese

EmpowerHer Group

N.C.E.G.

NCEG was founded by Nemia Carnese in 2022 to empower underserved and underprivileged women of color. As an organization that is biblically based and centered on women's empowerment enthusiasm, NCEG recognizes the unique and special needs of women of color. They need a safe space to be heard and recognized, use their voice, gain access to pertinent resources and feel inspired and encouraged. NCEG accomplishes this work through women's empowerment programming and workshops, published material, and providing information on resources and services to the community. Our focus is on educational and economic empowerment and personal and professional development for women and young ladies of all ages.

The Mission & Vision

NCEG's mission is to empower women with the light and love of God,  so they can see their way through the dimness of life. Our goal is to minister to the total women: mind, body and spirit. We envision a world where women are empowered and uplifted to live life to their fullest potential. When women are empowered, they are powerful. When their voices are heard, they are impactful. NCEG aims to arm with women with the tools and resources to foster hope, healing and wholeness.

About Nemia Carnese

Nemia Carnese, a survivor of domestic violence and an eyewitness to abuse within her own family, has a personal passion for empowering women. She has an extraordinary zeal for survivors of domestic abuse and educating the public about the signs of abuse, the impact of abuse on the family, and ways to break the cycle of violence. In 2006, she began Woman at the Well Ministry as an avenue to minister to the spiritual needs of broken women. Nemia started a support group to bring healing, restoration, and resources to women involved in domestic violence. Over time, the concept of Woman at the Well expanded into a ministry designed to empower not only women who have been subject to abuse but also an opportunity to minister to the total needs of women-mind, body and spirit.

Her work has included church and community involvement and volunteerism within local women’s shelters. Nemia is gifted with the ability to teach God’s word with a practical and sound approach. She shares her testimony so that other women might be encouraged, empowered, educated, equipped, inspired, and lead victorious lives.

Nemia is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Through her work within the sorority, she has previously served as the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Chair. Her community work has also included mentoring at-risk high school and college-aged females, counseling broken women, providing keynote addresses at women’s events, and facilitating workshops with young women and female youth groups.

As a professional, Nemia is a certified Human Resource practitioner and holds an Associate of Science in Computer Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision with a Human Resource Certification, and a Master of Science in Technology with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Purdue University. She currently serves as the Director of Human Resources for an Ivy League Institution within the Chicagoland area.
